Warm & Fuzzy

Mmmmm Valentines Day. Sometimes I hate it -but this year it was... pretty perfect. 'Not that you can't feel the love any other day of the year, but it sure is nice to float through the day on truffles and kisses and chocolate banana crepes. Okay, so the crepes may not have been so traditional, but for a day dedicated to decadence, I'd say they did the trick.

And on top of all that.... Peanut Butter Hearts! <3

And... Corn Muffins!

Magical Peanut Butter Cookies

-Preheat oven to 350
-combine 1 cup of peanut butter, 1 and 1/3 cups brown sugar, 1 egg, and 1 tsp vanilla (YEP- that's it)
-roll into walnut-sized balls (or hearts), and flatten with a fork to make a criss-cross pattern
-bake for 12 minutes

Winter Corn Muffins

-preheat oven to 325
-combine 1 cup cornmeal, 1 cup whole-wheat flour, 1 tsp baking soda, 1 tsp salt, 1 cup apple sauce, 1 cup soy milk, 1/2 cup agave OR maple syrup OR honey, 1/4 cup canola oil
-bake for 15-20 minutes/until toothpick comes out clean

Life is pretty scrumptious these days.

Doughy and Delicious

Hi, 2010. Sup?

Lovely lovely LOVELY year so far. And the weather has been perfect for...running! I have (almost) registered for a 10km race taking place at the end of the summer called The Underwear Affair! It's a wonderful fundraiser put on annually by North York General Hospital, bringing awareness and much needed funds to cancers below the waste. I'm running it with close friends, and my training has already begun -even though we still have QUITE a bit of
time ;)

Tonight was a particularly GRANDE night, not only because of the uncharacteristically warm (comparatively, of course) weather, but also because I lost my bread-making virginity! Very exciting. I've always wanted to bake bread, and tonight...drum role please....I did it.

The recipe I used is definitely ideal for beginners like myself (not that i know of any unideal recipes for beginners...), and can be found at:
